Via Ferrata near l'Argentière (Part 1)
30 minutes from Briançon and Serre Chevalier and just 10 minutes from the Argentière la Bessée we invite you to discover the Via Ferrata of the Ailefroide Gorges.
During this first part you will practice 1h15 of activity on a course accessible from the age of 8 years.
There is no one-way walk and the activity takes place over half a day.
This via ferrata is ideal for families or beginners.
It is a very fun and especially varied course that combines climbing ladders, monkey bridges, Nepalese bridges, all above a turquoise and limpid water.
Once the first part is done, a walk of 5 minutes will allow you to reach your vehicle.
And for the most athletic who want to continue the adventure with even more sensations, discover the 2nd part of the Ailefroide Gorges

Useful information
The departures for the Via Ferrata are in the morning or in the afternoon.
You will receive a GPS appointment as soon as your reservation is registered.
Depending on the period to avoid peak hours and enjoy these unusual spaces alone.
From June 15 to July 15 approximately:
- Departure 1: 9:00 a.m.
- Departure 2: 1:30 p.m.
From July 15 to August 25:
- Departure 1: 8:00 a.m.
- Departure 2: 12 noon
Equipment for the Durance Via Ferrata
To ensure that this via ferrata activity in Serre Chevalier takes place in complete safety, your instructor will provide you with all the essential equipment:
- a harness
- a helmet
- a lanyard with energy absorber
- your sports shoes (in good condition)
- Bermuda shorts
- T-shirt + small sweater or windbreaker (depending on the time or period)
- a water bottle
- small backpack (which we can provide)
