Description
Our team will be happy to accompany you in “schools” sites adapted, for a discovery, relaxation, family and all public outings.
Children from 12 years old and parents love it because it is a moment of exchange where young and old discover the fauna and flora of the mountains as well as the first steps on the glaciers.
Learning to walk in crampons, ice axe in hand, notions of safety, team spirit and already the budding desire to conquer summits within their reach.
Nothing is mandatory. Everyone will go according to his abilities, desires and sensations. It is an excellent body awakening for all.
Practical information
We start with a hike from the Pré de Madame Carles to the Glacier Blanc. We stop several times to eat, drink and enjoy the surrounding peaks, marmots and chamois.
Once on the edge of the glacier, we equip ourselves with these famous crampons, ice axe, harness and helmet, essential to allow us to evolve safely on the glacier. The first instructions are given and already like valiant mountaineers, we trudge, improvising games and workshops.
It is here that the mountain begins, during this essential learning, that you will understand why man has always wanted to rise higher and conquer the mountains of the world.
The sessions are scheduled for the day because they include walking, equipment, as well as the return to the meeting point.
The appointment is set at 8:00 am in the village of Ailefroide on the parking lot in front of the store “Le Caraqueton”.
Your instructor will provide you with all the equipment you need for your safety and comfort:
- a helmet
- a harness
- ropes and belay equipment
- A harness kit, crampons, helmets, ice axe can be provided on request or rented in store.
- mountaineering boots that you can rent in Briançon or at the shop “Le Caraqueton” at the meeting place.
- Light but strong hiking pants
- A technical t-shirt and fleece, as well as a Goretex type rain jacket and a warmer jacket type down jacket (light) if you have
- a pair of gloves, a hat and a neck warmer if you have
- sunglasses and sunscreen
- a bottle of water, a snack and cereal bars.
